The Middleband Group is a consulting company focused on helping companies build next generation digital media

Specifically, these are services focused on the transformation of traditional media to online, and the advertising model changes that go along with it as we move to a mobile broadband-enabled world.

We bring deep domain expertise to the table in the areas of social networking, social media, online video, mobile, community building and conversational marketing initiatives.
We are especially strong at platform-building efforts, both for internal development efforts (i.e., development of a digital media platform to orchestrate your business strategy) and as an external product offering (i.e., the platform is the product).
Over the past 20 years, we have built strong relationships with major brands (including Disney, UPS, Vespa, Foster's, Chevy, TheKnot, Carlson, Sprint, Hallmark), interactive agencies, media companies and internet service providers, and are happy to provide reference customers and projects upon request.
The Services We Offer
Our primary services are best thought of as marketing-oriented; namely, product marketing, product management (both "go to market" strategic and tactical marketing requirements) and outbound marketing communications, and we are very comfortable leading initial customer-facing business development efforts.
That said, the formal role can range from a narrowly defined time-bound project to the permanent 'interim' CEO and board member.
Compensation typically includes some combination of fees and equity, although there have definitely been cases where we have worked for equity only, and cases where we have worked for fees only. It is highly dependent on the nature of the project, the team and the opportunity.
The iPhone SDK and the Rise of Mobile Platforms
A final note. These days, we spend A LOT of time evaluating opportunities pertaining to Apple's release of an SDK for development of applications on the iPhone and iPod touch.
