vSocial today launched vQuote, a video sampling solution that enables video content owners to cultivate conversations around their video content. Specific to the release, the three biggest "so whats" are that:
1. The vQuote video sampling functionality enables content creators to cultivate conversations around their content by enabling consumers to quote just the portions of the content most meaningful to them. In many ways, it is similar to the ways bloggers create posts derived from news stories and in the process make it their own, which is important with social media.
2. vQuote enforces attribution of the sampler to the master in two ways. One is that it automatically creates a trackback in the player of the sample to the master. Two it embeds a watermark in the video that reflects the branding of the mastered content owner and links back to their default URL (thanks to vSocial's MyBrand customizable player solution). As content is quoted by samplers, the web of conversations/quotes is visible from the video play page of the master as well.
3. vQuote enables mastered content owners to monetize the conversations by automatically running any ads in the master within the sample.
The press release covers lots of other goodness including how this ties in with our MyBrand offering and video roll video slide show widget as well as our site in a box functionality but these are the highlights. Use case examples in release as well.
